So, Cameron is now 3 weeks old, and I already dread him growing up and am wanting another baby. They're just so cute and lovable! And as my mom says, they don't talk back : ). (In case you are wondering, YES my other child does talk back, quite a bit these days. But we love him lots too : )). Cameron pretty much eats and sleeps and cuddles, and I love every minute of it.
At his 2 week appointment, Cameron was 7 lbs 7oz, "gaining weight like a champ" as his pediatrician said. He seems to be a little turned around schedule-wise; opting to be more wide-awake during late-night hours. During the day he's in a pretty consistent pattern of sleeping, dirtying quite a few diapers, and waking to eat every 3 hours or so. He did get a little stuffy nose the past couple of days, which seems to kind of freak him out, I think just because it's new. We haven't even had to use the asparator (sp?) until now, and he deals with it pretty well. Here is a picture of what he looks like most of the day:
Just vegging in his pack n' play with the vibration and music going (Christopher tries to stop the vibration whenever possible. He is a firm believer in music only! : ))
Speaking of that day at the Pediatrician's office, I had both boys, and Christopher was being very good until the doctor said we should really go ahead and get him a flu shot that day because of the baby. I tried to talk it up to him, but he did NOT want to get a shot, so he crawled under the table. So the nurse did Cameron's poke in the foot first (to repeat the PKU), then I calmed the baby down, put him in his seat, and crawled under the table to pull Christopher out. I held him on my lap while she gave him the shot (to her credit, she is very, very quick), and he still proceeded to scream. I spent another 1o or 15 minutes calming him down and redressing Cameron, then attempted to leave the office. Christopher wouldn't budge unless I carried him, so I ended up leaving carrying the baby in the carrier, the diaper bag, my purse, AND my 4-year-old. Once I got them all settled in the car, I immediately called Joel at work and told him he is definitely coming to Christopher's next well-care appointment (about 2 weeks from now), when he is scheduled to get 3 or 4 more shots! Luckily, that appointment is on Joel's normal day off. Thank goodness. I don't know that I could hold him still for that many shots, let alone deal with the aftermath!
Christopher still loves to help with the baby, and is really enjoying preschool.
So, now Joel's parents are visiting, and we will bless Cameron on Sunday. It should be an interesting week!
